In Colorado, I began seeing emails floating from my ward for Youth activities to be cancelled and everyone be patriots and get out to the Republican Caucuses and vote and participate. I was proud of our bishopric that responded, telling everyone to curb the passion, and remember we have both democrats and republicans in the ward family. Youth activities will move ahead as scheduled, those families that can’t make it are excused.

Santorum?!?! I’m not a huge Romney fan . . . but anti-birth control, “just don’t be gay if you want to serve in the military” Santorum? I love this country, but sometimes all I can do is shake my head in wonder.

come on over to the blue side…the republican circus is pure entertainment.wayfarer, just as an fyi, I voted for President Obama last election and very well might again. To me they both seem a couple of large red, white and blue mammals. I find their politics as similar as the logos… But yes, there are some major things going on. There was a positive report on a local magazine program here last night. They showed sacrament meeting, and what went on. None of the usual polygamy and bigotry nonsense.
I must admit that my first reaction the next morning was HOLY SH!T, Rick Santorum? Are you freaking kidding me. How come Romney just can’t feel love?

I am a faithful Libertarian – voted for Bob Barr in the last election. BUT…I will probably vote for Romney if he gets the nomination. Why? Well, because unlike the belief that some have that the LDS church will heavily influence Romneys governing…I think just the opposite. I think Romney will influence the LDS church, and when he makes a statement about say polygamy or blacks and the priesthood etc —- it will become “accepted” by the mormon people over night. The church is so worried about it’s image, that it will stay out of Romney’s politics, and will bend with his statements of belief. AND…don’t forget, long before Romney was a “conservative,” he was a very good (IMO) MODERATE R. governor.
Romney has the potential to reform the mormon church overnight.

It seems to point to the Republican party hasn’t figured out what they want or stand for, so the divide between Romney, Gingrich, Santorum. I’m not sure any of these can muster enough unified support to beat Obama.
Its interesting to me that Romney is not doing too bad with Catholic voters, they don’t seem to mind his Mormon belief.
