    “The missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints came to call.  My mother had always taught me to invite anyone in saying they were representatives of God, so I did.”

    This comment jumped out at me from her mothers conversion story. For some reason I got a pretty big chuckle out of it.

    AngryMormon – funny you should mention about my grandmother’s statement to my mom. After they joined the church, my grandmother then warned my mother not to get too serious about all this religious stuff. So she was a complex woman. When I was a missionary in Spain, I often heard this from Catholics as well, that they had been told to always let representatives of God come in to talk to them. Perhaps it’s just generational. As I thought about it, I thought, “What a great way for serial killers to get into your house.” I suppose that’s why we send them in pairs.
