Participanthttp://alumni.byu.edu/s/1085/03-provo-alumni/templates/interior.aspx?sid=1085&gid=7&pgid=3817 http://chinesestarfish.blogspot.com/ My HT told me about a friend of his that recently died. The links above tell her story.
She was a single sister & a convert to the church.
She graduated from BYU & taught in China.
She then started an orphanage in China.
The links can tell you more than I can.
It is a very inspirational life.
It makes my issues seem small.

ParticipantWhat an inspiration! I’m glad you posted this. I’ve been looking for inspirational stories since the Colorado theater shooting to share with my kids that the world is full of really good people. Amanda’s story is a great example.
Thanks, Mike

KeymasterThanks, Mike. The impact of my own life on a broader scale has been weighing on me lately – for almost a year. This post was timely for me.

KeymasterWow Mike. These links brought tears to my eyes. Tears of wonder, joy, and sadness all rolled into one. I felt inspired to donate to her starfish foundation (very easy/user friendly). Thanks Mike! August 7, 2012 at 9:14 pm #157699cesc101
ParticipantThanks for posting this! This is the kind of story that leaves me wondering if life is a fair-deal, & if and when its all over, what will I be remembered for?
Hmmnn…

ParticipantThere is much more that I could post. But, I don’t have 1st hand knowledge. Amanda’s life would make an interesting story. I encouraged my HT to write an article to the Ensign explaining the details of her life.
He’s thinking about doing that. I hope he does.
