I’ve been a member of this forum for the past year (as of yesterday).

My most significant posting about my life are listed below.

    My introduction: http://forum.staylds.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2710

    More details (30 Jul): http://forum.staylds.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3403&start=20

Iam surprised how so much has changed (for the better) in (1) year.

Last week, my DW & I went to visit our youngest son (& family) & celebrate our grandson’s birthday.

They live in the Nauvoo stake.

We went to Carthage & than to the Nauvoo temple for the 1st time in 20+ years.

There was a flood of spiritual experiences going on. I’ll talk about one.

My son had a stockade fence built for his home. The next morning, we were getting ready to go to Nauvoo &

we were talking about how nice it looked. Plus, he didn’t have any privacy or safety issues to worry about

for the children or their dog. My son made the statement: “Now we have no distractions & no temptations.”

It seemed like a miniature parable playing in my head.

The fence around the house was there to be protection for the family & household.

Much like what the gospel should be. Then there a moments when you have to leave the yard to go to work, school,

shopping, etc. Hopefully you carry some of that protection with you as you face the outside world. Sometime your

successful & other times your not. This is an abreviated version. I’m sure you understand what I’m getting at.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We got to be the “witness” couple in our session. There were only (4) people in

our session too. I don’t know where this is going to take us. I don’t believe that Iam the same person I was before I went

inactive. I believe Iam going through all of this with my eyes wide open.

One day at a time my friends!

    Thank you for the help.

    Mike from Milton.

    Thanks for the update, Mike.

I might have known the other people in the session. :D

I recently read a quote that said “No man is wise by himself.” I feel myself to be wiser from what I have learned from you and others here. Thanks for contributing!

Roy, I feel the same way.

    Quote:

“No man is wise by himself.”

I was inactive for along time & felt that I was alone.

With the help of this site, my hometeacher, others in my ward plus family & friends, I am getting through this period of my life.

My only regret is: it has taken so long.

There is a great advantage to express what you are feeling & do it anonymously.

It is also a disadvantage. You can’t see the face of the person you’re talking to. Iam by nature very sceptical.

It is very easy to play “a role” on the internet. I like the way this site is monitored. If any of us go off topic & lose sight of the

mission of this site, the Administrators quickly bring us back or in some cases, cut us off. My personal views & beliefs about the gospel,

church, etc. has changed alot. I believe it is still within the bounds set by the church. It’s just different than it was.

Child sexual abuse & alcholism are (2) topics that are hard to address in a direct way. I realize now that it takes time.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

As the girl says on the TV commercial: “have a super sparkly day”.
