In another thread, it occurred to me it might be of value to brainstorm specific callings you can hold that don’t require you to confront doubts, teach or evangelize doctrine or church culture, or be inauthentic. One is participation in the scouting program. I believe even non-members can hold that calling. I can start (hopefully I won’t be the lone ranger in this thread!)
You can also simply volunteer for assignments and help organize activities. I did that recently (the latter) and started feeling sparks of commitment (they blew out pretty quickly afterwards but it was a start).
Can you brainstorm other ways of contributing that don’t make the person be inauthentic about testimony, spread values in which they no longer believe, etcetera?
Ward bulletin typist/printer Ward Newsletter – Wards don’t do it as much, but it could be started and be very community building.
Community and or Humanitarian Service Leader or team member
Librarian – my dream calling – never had it, but you help the ward and have nothing to teach/expound.
Activity specialist – which was disbanned but was left optional.
Music person –
Door greeter
Building clean up coordinator
Compassionate Service leader
Ward Clerk (my ward clerk is virtually silent during meetings) financial clerk
membership clerk
Nursery
Some organization secretaries
SD said scouting, but I’ll also call out cub scouting for women

Family History for the most part is Non Doctrinal. About 50% of my contacts are non-members.
We don’t teach lessons or preach at any level unless asked a specific question.
How about coaching basketball, softball, volleyball, etc. when a stake tournament is coming up? Also volunteering to referee or umpire?
