Thank you nibbler, those are quotes I’ve seen before, and yes I’ve seen black and white photos that are allegedly Joseph smith’s seer stones. I’ve gleaned so many sites I can’t remember where I’ve seen it. I just looked on google but couldn’t get a hit in the image I saw before. I’m beginning to think it wasn’t so legit now… Lol

If I remember correctly, I dont think they were all Joseph’s? One was someone else’s? Kimball perhaps or Brigham? Now it’s going to bug me!

The examples On Own Now mentioned are illustrative of the issue at hand: people assuming the worst and spreading that assumption, which subsequently is picked up and broadcast as fact.

I asked for a source specifically because I refuse to accept or validate ANYTHING (religious or not) when I can’t find any clear source reference – and even then I analyze the source prior to making a decision. Right now, this is nothing more than conjecture – and the examples to which people generally point as proof that the Church would do such a thing also are based on innuendo, assumption and, in some cases, distortion.

Am I saying it didn’t happen? Not at all. I’m saying there is no way to know and that, at this point, it is an accusation without any proof. I also am saying that, lacking any firm evidence, there is just as much chance that it didn’t happen as there is that it did.
