ParticipantMy parents live in a very small town in Utah, and they shared the attached picture with me from their local newspaper.
Only in small-town Utah!! It made me wonder if anybody else has had any experiences recently that are so unique to being Mormon that you couldn’t help laughing about it.😆 February 12, 2015 at 10:52 pm #195861nibbler
Keymasterlol Also, tapes?
ATTENTION: Whoever stole the Book of Mormon tapes out of the white Dodge car, good luck finding something to play them on!
(I still have a cassette player in my car).

ParticipantTapes? Do people still have tape players in cars? My car that I have had for about 5 years has a 6 – CD player that I have never used. I just use my Bluetooth to listen to any music outside the radio. Our grandkids will laugh at CD’s before too long!

Keymaster:clap: 😆 😆 I saw a sign on I-15 near Provo advertising for a lawyers firm:
Quote:“We are here because your Home Teachers shouldn’t be giving legal advice.”

Somewhere in storage I have a car 8-track player. Next time I have a car with a hole in the dash big enough, I’m going to dig it out and install it.
I did have a 5.25″ floppy drive with a USB adapter at one point, too. Kept meaning to re-rig that adapter to the 8″ floppy drive I used as a doorstop in the shop.

ParticipantI guess Mormons are inspired when we pass out a free copy of the scriptures to someone who will read it and possibly convert and change their lives…and all the scriptures are free now in the LDS app, complete with ability to play the scriptures on any device. BUT DON’T FREAKIN’ TOUCH MY TAPES!
:wtf: I heard the matter was resolved when the tapes were returned to the same owner’s car, with a plate of lemon bars, and a note that said: “I followed Moroni 10:3-5 and prayed if these were true…my answer was to return the tapes and get the CD version. These tapes are not true. Enjoy the Lemon Bars.”
The police closed the case.

KeymasterDon’t they have radio stations in Utah that you can tune to that play the audio version of the Book of Mormon? You’ll know it’s time to turn the page when Nephi thumps his chest like this
. I’d like to put up a link but the link won’t stay around forever, check out ebay. The best “deal” I found was a BoM, D&C, and OT cassette sets all for only $29.99.
I don’t know if this can be classified as funny or painful but DW just introduced me to the
that she remembers from her youth.Mormon Rap:sick: February 16, 2015 at 6:00 am #195871Holy Cow
ParticipantHa ha!!! That was hilarious! I had no idea there was a Mormon rap! Not sure if I’m better off knowing about it. 😆 February 16, 2015 at 12:59 pm #195872LookingHard

😆 Yep – more like Celestial Rap (think of the abbreviation)

 Somewhere in my piles of childhood junk, I have a cassette tape of Mormon Rap that I (gulp) bought after hearing it played on the local radio station of my predominantly Mormon town.

ParticipantMy last car had a cassette deck, and it was easier to play MP3 etc on it via a jack – my current car has no port on it. Personally always found tapes more practical than CDs when changing them. CDs scratch and screw up if they land on the floor.
MP3 etc can be fiddly.
