The three online suggestions are orthodox, but they are not wrong, in essence – if we broaden them and use them as general advice to use technology to increase access to good, uplifting things.
I agree Ray. Staying engaged in real life helps us in many ways, not just in our relationship o Christ. I liked this talk.
Mixed feelings with elder neilson. I have family who have left the church and don’t really like calling them “lost”. They still have regular lives. Don’t always like the happy ending story. It doesn’t always work out the way you want. Elder Holland is next. This is a powerful story. What an amazing way to begin an Easter talk. I can hardly see the screen, and I am going to stop typing and just watch.

I agree. Not everyone is “broken” who distances themselves from the Church and not everyone comes back despite love of family. I am sure some listeners were inspired and some disheartened.
It’s nice to hear a true “Easter” talk. Elder Holland is not my favorite speaker but this is probably a talk to actually reread (or rewatch). journeygirl wrote:Mixed feelings with elder neilson. That’s true, JG. But as a prodigal son, I have to say sometimes it does, and even if it’s ever only one, it’s worth it. I will be the first to say I was not lost, and Elder Nielson did say he eventually recognized that he and his sister were on the same path and he was a prodigal, too. I think we need not take offense at that one word.
I really enjoyed a lot of Elder Holland’s talk. Particularly the story of the brothers. Elder Holland has always been one of my favorite speakers in just how he speaks; he’s so animated and passionate. He talks of a literal Adam and Eve and the Fall tied with Christ and Easter. His emphasis is Easter and Christ. Whether you believe the literal doctrine or not, this is a talk to listen to rather than read for Elder Holland’s presentation of it.
Edit: Gosh, this man is so good with the structure of his talks. Just…so good.
Like DJ says, I love that Elder Nielson ended by saying he was as lost as his sister and that we all need to be rescued. Holland grand slam Easter talk. I agree. Don’t agree with Adam and Eve being literal people, but loving the rest of it and the way he tied it to the fall.

Uchtdorf is up, I won’t be typing, just listening. It is an Easter talk, and I full well expect another grand slam. Ending with Pres. Uchtdorf for this session. I’m very sick, so I was going to check out completely for a nap, but I hate missing his talks. The concluding speaker is Pres. Uchtdorf. The resurrection changed everything. It set us free. Death has no sting; the grave has no victory; Satan has no lasting power.
We must never lose our sense of awe and gratitude. The atonement cannot become commonplace for us.
All I can come up with is that God loves us deeply, perfectly and ever-lastingly.
We must recognize and know about grace. (I am SO glad we talk about grace more now than when I was younger.)
We cannot earn our way into Heaven.
I am stopping with the notes and just watching.
