Uchtdorf sure did and about grace, probably the most misunderstood doctrine. I was sitting there wondering how many of his phrases would be turned into memes seeing as how the TBM crowd seems to love soundbites but eschew that which with they are unfamiliar.
You know Uchtdorf could just read a phone book to me and I would be uplifted. I love this song. “How Could the Father.” It’s been among my favorites since Primary added it.
Elder Hales – An Easter beginning – Freedom to Believe whatever you do about God (very personal and very important), Freedom to Share faith and belief with others (I never knew this), Freedom to organize a religion ( yes, my favorite Article of Faith. :thumbup: ), Freedom to Live our faith. (getting a bit political here?) but I like the idea of letting others have religious freedom of others. I am calling this a 50/50 piece.Yes!!! One of my favorite Joseph Smith’s quotes.
My dinner got delayed. Elder Hales is speaking. Most here will want to skip it, especially since he doesn’t seem to realize how his description of others applies to us in so many cases. (The Teleprompter either skipped back or my feed did so. That was unique.)
This is one I personally dislike.
It is getting better with the Joseph Smith quote. I wish we understood and practiced it better, though, and weren’t so selective about it.
Elder Hales gave a decent party line talk on religious freedom with agency sprinkled in. He also bears a touching testimony of the Savior. Nothing especially objectionable but nothing to crow about either. In the interest of my personal pledge to remain positive, I will defer to others on Elder Pearson’s talk.
Edit: OK, I lost it. Skip Elder Pearson, very black and white hardline talk.
Elder Pearson is next. This talk goes against some of what was said this morning, especially the talks of Pres. Wohom and Elder Nielson. He puts struggles directly in the realm of sloth, apathy, etc. He appears to have a very black-and-white view.
Also, sometimes, enduring to the end is all about hanging in there.
I think most here will want to skip this one, even though there are good elements in it. The hashtag attempt was ham-handed, imo, as was the reference to political correctness.
This is the one I dislike the most. I just don’t like it at all.
I’m only catching bits and pieces… but did I hear right? Don’t lose the spirit or you’ll lose it forever (or something similar)???!!! It was in regards to missionaries coming home “There is no room for average.” I really dislike this one. Seriously, everyone here will want to skip this one. It just is an extreme view that shows the truth of the last statement in my signature line.

I missed this speaker’s name. I like the analogy of the trees and the forest – and the television show, “What do you see?”
Jigsaw puzzles – One child used to focus on the individual pieces and want to throw away pieces that didn’t go where he thought they should be. (There are problems with how this could be interpreted, but I like the general point he is making.)
Perspective really is important, and focusing on the negative really is destructive.

I love watching this guy speak. I have missed most of his words, but his style reminds me of my dad when I was young. In short I enjoyed him. I did like the pizza analogy. Love the Uchtdorf surprise. Yes.
I am loving the Hymns. All Christ.
