I was reading a thread here last week that recommended a set of children’s books addressing values I think. They took an attribute and wrote a story around it. Now I can’t remember the name of the set of books and can’t find the thread. Any good recommendations?

I wouldn’t call them a series, but books by William Bennett, former U.S. Secretary of Education have good, moral stories. For children specifically we own and used with our own children The Children’s Book of Virtues. His books are available on Amazon and elsewhere, or get them from the library. When our children were younger, every third FHE was a trip to the library.

This May or may not have been it. Either way I grew up on these at age 4 and continued to read them into preteen along lotr and never ending story, dark crystal.

As a result my values were based and learned from them before scripture or church.

The valuetales series books. I love them and plan to get them for my future child(recently married).

They are great and still have great memories of them of teaching values without feeling preachy or condescending.

Creative too. Anyways — hope it helps. I’m also investigating others if anyone else has suggestions.

Yes, Value Tales is the one I was trying to remember. I also found “Tales of Virtues” that look good and the Bennett books look good too.
