    I like to play with this data.

    Some charts on the membership numbers, along with my estimate for real growth (1.3%), activity level (34%) and total resignations last year (58k).

    How do you calculate % of activity? I’ve always thought that they would want to keep that pretty close to the vest.

    Activity rates are not kept hidden. Of all rates, they are some of the most gathered and distributed.

    35-40% is a good estimate, I think.

    They aren’t published openly to the general populace, but they are distributed quite openly to local leaders.

    Also, activity is defined as attendance at Sacrament Meeting at least once per month. Compared to most (if not all) other denominations, that is a quite high standard.
