Old-Timer
KeymasterFwiw, I hate Gospel and church kitch. That is all.

KeymasterHe just mentioned the sealed portion. Joni, I love the irony. 😆 October 1, 2016 at 9:08 pm #216077nibbler

No worries, it’s being covered now.

It was an attempt at humor. Sorry. I’ll see myself out.

ParticipantElder Christofferson – God’s love is not described in scripture as “unconditional,” but raither as great, wonderful, redeeming, perfect, everlasting, and infinite. God doesn’t save us in our sins; he saves us from our sins.
I like the part about Helen Keller’s parents being content to just have her civilized, but Sullivan knew she could do more.

KeymasterNo, Joni, please don’t leave. Humor is hard to translate, which is why the laughing emoticon is such a blessing. 🙂 Seriously, please forgive me. I didn’t mean to offend, and I obviously missed the humor. That is my fault totally.

ParticipantWho spoke after Elder Christofferson? I think it’s just as well that I didn’t catch it. I caught a whiff of “don’t draw your own conclusions.” October 1, 2016 at 9:23 pm #216082Joni
ParticipantIt’s all good. I’ll try harder to remember to use the emojis when I’m trying (however badly) to be funny. October 1, 2016 at 9:25 pm #216083ydeve

Elder Bassett. Yeah, it was a lot of the “trusting God means trusting church versions of history” spiel.
There was some good stuff about trusting God and not throwing the baby out with the bathwater, though.

KeymasterI served in the Sapporo, Japan mission. Elder Yamashita is a good man. October 1, 2016 at 9:31 pm #216085Joni
ParticipantOne other fact about Mary Rollins (thanks, Wikipedia): she lived longer than any of Joseph Smith’s other wives, dying at the age of 95 in 1913. It blows my mind that Joseph Smith’s last widow died a year before World War I began!I don’t know if that’s interesting to anyone else, but it is to me. October 1, 2016 at 9:36 pm #216086Ann
ParticipantJoni, like Dallin Oaks being born in the house of a beloved aunt – a woman who had lived polygamously. They aren’t far removed from it. October 1, 2016 at 9:37 pm #216087Ann

While I don’t think missionaries should run themselves into the ground, that story of Elder Cowan was powerful.October 1, 2016 at 9:45 pm #216088nibbler
KeymasterWelp, now I know what 1st and 4th Sunday PH lessons are going to be about for the next 3 months. (missionary work) October 1, 2016 at 9:47 pm #216089Joni
ParticipantI’ve actually prayed and fasted several times to have missionary experiences, and didn’t have any. I’ve honestly made my peace with it. I think it’s just not one of my spiritual gifts. -
