DoubtingTom
ParticipantElder Anderson – about “overcoming the world.” What exactly does the phrase mean? Maybe he’ll answer April 1, 2017 at 9:24 pm #220837Joni
ParticipantYeah, this talk isn’t doing it for me. How bad can the world REALLY be? Didn’t God create it?

ParticipantEvidently “overcoming the world” means keeping our promises and loving the 3-hour block. This one also isn’t doing much for me. April 1, 2017 at 9:25 pm #220839DoubtingTom
Participant“The happiness of our spouse is more important than our own pleasure.” I like this. Good talk so far. Focusing on turning outward towards others. Simple loving others message. April 1, 2017 at 9:26 pm #220840mom3
ParticipantChips with your sandwich anyone? A cold coke to wash it down? April 1, 2017 at 9:26 pm #220841DoubtingTom
ParticipantOops spoke too soon. We should all apparently log off now. April 1, 2017 at 9:31 pm #220842mom3
ParticipantDT – Take the best line and work with that. Leave the rest to chaff. April 1, 2017 at 9:36 pm #220843Ann

I like that too, accept that church callings always took precedence over spending time with wife or family in our ward. It almost destroyed our marriage.

We have GOT to stop perpetuating the idea that if you pay your tithing instead of feeding your children, everything will be okay. That is FALSE.
So agree Joni.

ParticipantMissing most of Ballard’s talk with crying 2 year old but I like the idea of how important goals are and striving to plan our actions towards achieving those goals. Even if some of my goals are different than the church’s, the concept still holds true. April 1, 2017 at 9:44 pm #220847DoubtingTom
ParticipantI like this part about doing a “private personal review” as we know ourselves best. Can this PPR permanently replace the PPI? April 1, 2017 at 9:54 pm #220848ydeve
ParticipantYes. Literally. You don’t have to go to PPIs. April 1, 2017 at 9:56 pm #220849mom3

Deal.
