Some days it’s really hard to stay LDS. Today is one of those days.

    Sorry to hear that, DJ.

Life happens, and sometimes life (and people) sucks – as was said (using that exact word) in two Sacrament Meeting talks in the YSA branch I attended after our meetings today. In that same meeting, one speaker said, “God loves us even when we piss Him off,” and another one said, “I have never prayed about how to help someone and had God tell me, ‘Screw him. I don’t care about him.'” (I hope that brightens your day, somehow.)

Keep your chin up – and any other platitude that might help. ;)

I had thought my anger was over, and apparently it’s not, but I also realized it’s mostly not really anger but hurt manifesting itself as anger.

Hang in there, Dark Jedi, I and many more here can empathize with you on the difficulties that come around.

I believe life as like a tide — when it comes at you hard, there is no stopping it and it can be rough when you are caught there. Eventually, the moon changes position though, and it moves back out leaving you to forge ahead. Hope the tide receds from you this week.

I am sorry that your hurt if coming up again. I often find myself thinking that I am “over it” and then it comes back with one little trigger. I think that is part of the healing process. I hope you find your peaceful state again. Did something happen that triggered it?

Curtis, that is hilarious that someone said that God said “Screw him, I don’t care about him anyway”.

    Dark Jedi:

Wish I could morph into Papa Smurf for a few minutes and magically fix everything.

    I cannot.

Breath. Take a step. Breath. Keep moving.

    Know that we care.

Yes, there was a trigger, one I could not avoid but don’t care to go into detail about. I did see it coming, but didn’t think I would react the way I did.

opentofreedom, just to make it clear, the quote was that God had NEVER said that to him. 🙂

One of the things I love most about YSA groups outside of Utah is that you get it real and fresh and unedited so often.

((DJ,))I am so sorry to hear about that and I understand you not wanting to go into detail. I also understand being shocked at how you thought you were “over” something and it coming to smack you in the face again. The feelings can sometimes be just as raw as the original pain. I hope you find some peace soon.

    Curtis,

    Oh, thank goodness…haha !!

My favorite church attendance was in the YSA wards for that very reason!

I think it shows a high level of understanding that you know where the anger comes from. For many people uncomfortable feelings come out as anger becuase we are more comfortable in dealing with anger than hurt or embarrassment. Unfortunately – it also masks the true problem and makes it harder to get to the source.

I hope tomorrow is a better day.

    Your friend,

    Roy

Hi, DarkJedi – I’m sorry you’re feeling so down. It’s an unfortunate fact that, as much as does get shared here, we need to put limits on for various reasons. I hope things improve.
