There are things in this church that exist solely to buttress its structure, authority, and truth claims. These things mean absolutely nothing to me anymore. Most of this session falls in that category.

I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, because most words in most talks and lessons on any particular Sunday fall in that category.

Ooh, the gospel challenges us to become something. That’s good.

I used to love these, back when the invisible world they expounded on was so real to me. The past Reubens probably really enjoyed this one.

Fear? Talk of war, Satan. Arbitrary rules? Obedience to rules without reasons.
