I get round the sexist part in the first room by substituting my name in my mind for “husband” when the women say “yes”. It makes me feel much better in myself. :P

But seriously, HG I consider you ordained. I think endowment ordains women, I think JS intended Relief Society to be a priesthood body as well. And as I say I think the Endowment could be made gender equal much more easily than GC, our church government etc.

Thank you for the insight Ray. I’ve tried to do the balance thing as 1 all my life. But ying and yang work too.

I hope and pray that I can maybe see the rituals and symbolism through her eyes, or at least begin to understand.

I’m so relieved to find that there are people who feels the same as I do. When I go to the temple, I fall asleep and when it would be time to do you know what! The person sitting next to me would wake me up and do my part them i go back to sleep. I like the idea of eternality and all. At the same time, I don’t understand the weirdness and the big deal with symbolism. Especially when people won’t tell you and tells you that you have to figure it out.

So how do I get to the celestial room without doing an ordinance? Put on my white clothes and ask any temple worker?

Yes, Shawn. That should be enough. Just tell them you are there to spend some time in the Celestial Room this time.

Ray – that was a perfect opportunity for a masterful practical joke, totally wasted. You could have told Shawn to go to the female matron and say “The Eagle has landed” or something like that. Man, I hate to see such an opportunity let go by. :)

Thanks, Ray. It would be nice to do to that. hawkgrrrl is right, though. You shouldn’t have made it so easy for me 🙂

    Actually Shawn,

it is more complicated then that. If you ask, you may or may not be allowed. To ensure you can get in there, It is best to walking out outside, of the building, and go around the back to the back door which leads right into the Celestial Room. There will be an old man in a suit there (who would of thunk it) and simply tell him you are here to enjoy the Celestial beauty of the temple then wink and simply walk in.

That would be awesome, being able to go straight to the celestial room not having to do the endowments. Isolation scares me though. How confident are you that thy will let me go straight to the celestial room?

It’s supposed to be an option, but if you are constantly doing only that it might cause questions (understandably).
