    Shawn, fwiw, your title revision is one reason I really love this forum.

    It’s not that I think you had to “repent” (change) but that we aren’t locked into dogmatic views (usually – :P ) and, generally, are open to learning from each other. It’s the concept and the principle of the way we usually converse, more than the specifics of the title change.

    That’s good, Shawn, and now for the penance – forty lashes, pronto!

    I’m sure we can agree on the following:

    * Children under 12 shouldn’t have to use it.

    * I think people should be made aware of the REAL meaning of Thou.

    * It should be reformatted, and include speech quotations.

    I’d also do the following:

    * Include the Apocrypha (KJV version) in quads and curriculum.

    * De-emphasize BoA

    * Bring back the Lectures on faith.

    * Teach about Gospel of Thomas etc

    These could all be deuterocanonical, but they are of interest and would broaden our understanding.

    ;) Shawn…no worries, mate. I didn’t moderate it, I was just sharing my impressions from it.

    This is a great thread on whether to use the KJV or something else. In order to separate out the discussion of the ‘or something else’, I’ve created a new thread that intends not to be a discussion for or against the KJV, but only to talk about alternatives:

    President Uchtdorf quoted the New International Version (NIV) four times in a talk at Women’s Conference!

    Great catch Shawn. I love when this happens. Chieko Okazaki often did it when she spoke. Most members won’t catch it, which is too bad, but we can use it and reference back to them. Makes me happy.

    The Net Bible is great. The printed version comes in two versions .. the larger one has amazing footnotes.

    The app Blue Letter Bible lets me read two different versions of scripture side by side .. so KJV and NIV or NET. It really helps with understanding without losing the poetry of KJV.
