I don’t have much to add to subject topic. I have people I love on both sides of the growing chasm of divided Mormonism and I am wiped out. I have even been out of direct contact for quite a few months, but it doesn’t heal the divide. The two sides can’t/don’t/won’t communicate or understand each other. Each calls the other an enemy and has frightful and vicious feelings toward it’s counterparts. Each has wisdom and insight that is valuable. I am sooo worn out, hungry, lonely, and unpeaceful (I know it’s not a word). I just needed to see my feelings in writing, hear my heart expel its pain, and give voice to the tears that won’t release.

    Thanks. No reply’s necessary.

I hear you and agree….. neither side wants to have an honest and open discussion about how how both could meet the other’s needs more and what it takes to support both. That said i feel like a walk a middle road pretty well and I no doubts about it, get more flack from the TBM side.

Thanks DB – Earlier this week I devoted a day to listening your podcasts, I am so appreciative of your extra effort in this cause. I don’t know how you do it but it means so much to me. Thanks.

I am glad for this site where anybody not at the end of the spectrums is welcome. It is easy to find those on the ends.

I agree. For a site called “Stay” it’s awfully welcoming to those who may not. mom3, thanks for not being too weary to be here.

Amen… and often those in the middle have the hardest time finding others.

During a battle the middle is “no mans land.” They may be trying to help the two sides come together and communicate but they’re likely to get shot in the process. Both sides like to think those in the middle are trying to be everyone’s friend and are afraid to pick a side to stand on, but the ends don’t understand the middle is a place of conscience and an abundance of allies is not a reality there.

Orson – I could hug you.

The idea of being in the middle and “trying to be everyone’s friend” has been on my mind. I feel authentic, even led/driven to my point of view, but WOW what a place. I was unprepared for the loneliness and sideline opinions that came with it.

For everyone here, to day is a better day, I know the dark will come again. It’s generous that way, but each of you shared your candle with me and I sincerely thank you.

I love this ward, the Bishopric – Ray, Hawk, Heber and Orson, I love the Stake President Brian, and all the rest of you. Our high councilmen, Sunbelt and DJ. The Relief Society of Ann, Eternity4me and MockingJay. Love you all.

Interesting thing that those in the middle can expect from both sides.

As it says on the Essay on our homepage:

    Quote:

    A Deeply Personal Journey

You are in charge now. You can judge and value as good as anyone else. You have permission to do so. Everything from here on out is a deeply personal journey. Others will not make the same meaning or practice the same conclusions. You are doing the best you can with what you have been given. But God expects you to use your brain and sort things out. Put the rest in the hands of the Lord. Everything will be “OK.”

Seek peace. Seek to reduce suffering. Seek goodness.

Always trade up, even if trading up means not doing some things and just resting for a time.

God wants you to be happy. He may be waiting for you to find out what that looks like. You’ve been taught, but you need to experience. Being worn out is an experience. It doesn’t always last, it too passes, and things will be “OK” again.

We’re glad you are here and share with us.

    Bless you, friend.

Fwiw, my liberal friends think I’m too conservative; my conservative friends think I’m too liberal.

    I just think I am.

    I am a liberal conservative.

Or a conservative liberal, I forget which.
