You mean worship love? Or worship life? That sounds reasonable. But most people think Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are the embodiment of love and life. As for an ultimate source, I don’t think there is one. It all cycles forever.

Hmmmmm, this is very difficult idea for me to wrap my head around. Are there any notions that the Holy Spirit is actually the core of all things? I recently read where someone thinks the ” source” or core, is Vibration. In a molecular level, that Life and Love are are actually a sound vibration that also translates to music and color, and ” things” …..as in scripture it says ” the word” …..could this ” word” be sound? Music? Is this God?

The notion that god is subject to the law. Does this not then make the law something more powerful than god?

So I noticed that I keep coming across scriptures that allude to some ” universal laws” . That every blessing is predicated on some universal law. Now, after reading your thoughts I see that God is also subject to these laws. For me, this means he is not all mighty. If he has to play with in the limits of these laws the same as we do. So, leads me to my next question, if we are ” man” and held within these laws, and God was a ” man” and held in the laws,,,,,,and if he is now STILL held within the laws, what does it really mean today he is exalted? If he is not ” above the laws”……..what does ” exalted ” actually even mean?

Yes, I have had a problem with this as well. I figure that IF God had a God and , and that God had a God and etc,,,,then WHERE exactly did it all start? And shouldn’t that SOURCE of where all things came from, be that thing that we worship? I have to admit that praying to ” heavenly father” doesn’t feel right to me. I want to pray to the the SOURCE of all life, light, truth, and love.

I recently read a quote from Joseph Smith and it indicated that he thought God did not have the power to create our spirits, and he did not have the power to create his own spirit. This seems to say that Heavenly Father is NOT almighty. ( the book is called : teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith compiled by Joseph Fielding Smith it’s on page 354 and it says,” if I am right, I might with boldness Proclaim from the housetops , that God never had the power to create the spirit of man at all, God himself could not create himself.”

) This leads me to ask,,,,are we being short sighted by accepting that God is all powerful?

Hi, so ….my advice might be different. I have had similar experience with the anxiety/ OCD / porn/ masturbation. I went to therapist, learned cognitive behavior therapy and was put on anti anxiety meds. It didn’t ” cure” me, it just help me be more aware that I had problems. Fast forward 10 years….off the meds and i have studied, prayed and received knowledge. I had a massive Candida overgrowth in my guts. Due to heavy metal toxicity. Metal and Candida causes anxiety and OCD and inflammation in the body. Basically your body is in a toxic state and is in a state of panic. The autism is also caused by the metals, mine manifests in the autism spectrum as Aspergers. So, now you may wonder how the porn/ masturbation fits in. Its your body crying for help with the inflammation. Your heart, and other organs are in danger when they are inflammed. I found A medical article that showed that sex/masturbation acts as an ANTI -inflammatory. So what I learned was that I was not a ” bad person” for having desire. It was just my body’s only way of taking away the inflammation. It was now a way for me to use that cognitive behavior therapy to understand that I needed to attend to my body. When ever I had the desire to masturbate. I realized it meant my body was inflamed. Chamomile tea, and caffeine are anti inflammatory. They will work as a temporary anti- inflammatory. But to get to the root of all these problems it is neccessary to do regular Heavy Metal Detox. Metal comes into our bodies in numerous ways. Thru breathing diesel fumes, drinking water with chlorine and flouride, eating foods with trans fats and hydrogenated oils ( they have metal as a preservative), deodorant has aluminum, tooth fillings have mercury…..and others….you can Google info about how to do the detox. And then enjoy being free from all these trials. God has blessed me with this knowledge and brought me to your post, I hope and pray it helps you. God bless.

I hope to provide her with several examples of life patterns to help her understand that she is not limited to just one.

I agree , and this is how I approach this as well. We talk about choices and what sort of life consequences follow. I appreciated taking her to sacrament and being able to teach my daughter how to dress modestly at an early age. And how to keep dress hemlines at the knee and how to sit properly in a dress. She has also gone to the activity days and been involved in some baking class, and a talent show. These have been really wonderful to boost her self esteem. The church provides a safe place for the girls to grow and as long as we, the parents, keep having conversations with them , and teaching them they are acceptable to God, whether it is as independent strong single career women, or as married stay at home mommies, and that they do indeed have free agency to make choices.

“I think the gospel itself is very simple. The church, on the other hand, can be very complicated and members of the church can make the gospel and doctrine appear much more complicated than it actually is.”

Thank you for saying this. I have felt this way also for many years. I am a convert, and before I was baptized things seemed simple. After that, things got gradually more and more complicated, and that’s when I started looking for clarity online, and came across alot of articles on the problems with LDS teachings. I have been inactive the past 2 years and dodging missionaries and home teachers since I realized when I asked my real questions, they never got answered. They would always end up answering questions I wasn’t really asking and when they left I was unsatisfied with conversations and felt alienated and alone. This is my first posting on this site I’ve been reading it off and on for the last few months and I was greatly encouraged by several things that people say on this website so I just wanted to say thanks
