ParticipantGet someone to tape his reactions in class. He probably has no ideal how his reactions are. With evidence in hand to show him how distracting he is; your talk may be very effective. If he chooses to want to take this on up the chain of command you have evidence to show exactly what is distracting you and your students. Wish I had a cell phone with camera when I was teaching High School. I did survive 32 years without getting shot or sued. This is Hardball but if you use it; it will work You might want to tell the class that you will be using shots of students to evaluate if they are comprehending what is being said class Konvert Kid
ParticipantWelcome you sure bring a interesting group of issues. I have a bad habit of telling everyone how to resolve their problems. I will try not to do that here. Welcome welcome. Konvert Kid
ParticipantStarting the week of July 18 the Missionaries are being retrained for some changes in how to teach the Gospel. The announcement came through the Mission Presidents. Most members are unaware of this information. I know about it because I was ask to help with transportation for some sisters.

ParticipantOpps !!! Didn’t realize you were a Brother Just tell you’ bunkie you don’t want to keep him awake with your snoring and offer to sleep with the supplies were your snoring will keep 2 and 4 legged varmets out of the food. Worked for me for years. Konvert Kid
ParticipantI agree with Sam. If you can show love, listen and not fight with the other leaders; you have the makings of a good camp leader. If you have some organizational skills too you can be a great leader. I didn’t start working with camp till I was thirty (age when I joined church} and retired at 62 ( became more trouble than I was worth) As far as not holding boys hands just sing ” What you gonna do in a little canoe?” your time and attention is the best thing you can give teenagers and if you do not judge them. all you need is some candy. Don’t confuse problems with adult authority keep you from camping if you like to camp with kids. Best luck whatever you do. If you need help with programs or what ever: let me know I have lots. ParticipantQuote:“Intellectual tendencies only interfere with some (but not all) forms of spirituality — perhaps it tears apart forms of spirituality (sentimentalism like Hawk said) that we SHOULD root out of ourselves or dispel. Pure and exclusive belief in materialism might interfere with the spiritual, but not intellectualism or rational thought per se.”
How are you using the terms “Intellectual” or “intellectual tendencies”.

ParticipantSpecial equipment is used that can seperate red blood cells, plasma or platelets. The amount of blood taken is replaced. There are no side effects. The Apheresis Donation Process: Safe and Easy Similar to a whole blood donation, an aphersis donation consists of four steps: registration, health history and mini-physical, donation, and refreshments. From registration to refreshments, the process lasts 1½ -2½ hours. During the actual donation, you will sit in a comfortable recliner, and a carefully monitored machine will draw blood from one arm through sterile tubing into a cell separator centrifuge. The blood stays inside the self-contained sterile tubing and never comes in contact with the machine. After the blood component(s) have been collected, the rest of the blood is returned to the donor through the same arm or the other arm. It’s a safe process — the collection sets and needles are sterile, used once for each donor and then discarded. Donors usually relax, read, or enjoy a movie during the donation. Go to
http://www.givelife2.org/donor/apheresis.asp for more information! donation of platelets is the same as 5 units of whole blood. Hope this helps.Konvert Kid
ParticipantI have been giving blood for years Some time they are nice sometimes they are not. Sometimes I am able to donate and sometimes I’m not. I now give platelets which takes 2 hours or more for me. This can be done every 2 weeks; so I am well known at my local blood bank. I don’t give that often. About once in every time I am disqualified for over a year. I had been on a cruse and unknowingly to me entered an area that was on the Do not Visit list most of the times my Iron level is a tenth to low. What happened to you was sad but every day lots of people are turned down. Please try again and I hope you have a better time. The advantages in my area are watching a video with good free air conditioning and a free colosterol screening and a free T-Shirt. Please try again and I hope you have a better time.

ParticipantWelcome Welcome. Isn’t it wonderful to have a place where you can express doubts without fear. As my name indicates; i have come from a very different background. Lots of other churches have many problems we have, such as the problems of gender equality. It is not a J. Smith problem! Again so glad you have started speaking not just listening.

ParticipantI haven’t read all the comments closely; someone may have covered this. Consider having your first meeting at Tasty Cream, Artic Circle or some neutral location Many members feel they are being inspected when the Bish. ask for an appointment to visit you at home. Konvert Kid
ParticipantI feel much the same about many things both spiritual and and physical. I miss having my parents alive so I could talk to them. I wish that ” I am a child of God ” was all the doctrine I needed. I’ve been waiting for 10 years for my next life to happen. After 32 years of teaching I was ready for something new; but nothing seems as interesting as the past. I think this a very normal way to feel as we pass through life. I think this is part of most everyone;s life not something exclusive to searching Stay LDS types. I say this not to make less of your feelings but to show what an important part of growth they are,

ParticipantI had my recommend interview last night. And it worked at the temple today. So maybe what I am going too say isn’t too crazy. Bishops and Stake Presidents want short simple answers like “yes” and “no” without all the details. You can make another appointment to talk about the whys and details. For the questions you just can’t answer with Yes or No; the phrase ” Earnestly Striving.” works extremely well because the phrase in one of the question. Konvert Kid
ParticipantNo!!!!!! Konvert Kid
ParticipantNow I know why I follow March Madness even though I get tired of nothing but games on TV. I’m rooting for North Texas(a real dark horse but the school I attended. Some friends and I play some games that directly to goings on at church. ” Bishop bishop who is going to be the new Bishop?” and passing out score cards to evaluate talks on special days, like Mother or Fathers day. Who me competitive. Serious I do think you make some great comparisons.

ParticipantHello and Welcome There are 2 facts that may be helpful while you are making this important decision.
1. You don’t have to make these important decisions before your birthday. Many young men wait a year or 2 before starting their mission. Some think that this helps them serve a better mission.
It would also give you time to understand the questions you have.
2. StayLDS is an example of people who can question facts while having a variety of relationships with the church.
