ParticipantHere is the link to the talk by Elder Talmage, page 94: . I am no way near a theologian so am interested in others’ comments. I found this reference inhttps://archive.org/details/ConferenceReports1930s/mode/2up?q=102nd+session+of+the+church+of+jesus+christ+of+latter+day+saints+general+conference Scripture Study Made Easy:Book of Mormon

ParticipantI came across a 1930 April General Conference talk by Elder James E Talmage. He says “salvation is graded ever upward until it culminates in the glorious condition of exaltation… One of the greatest [truths] is that to hell there is an exit as well as an entrance…It is a place prepared for the teaching, the disciplining of those who failed to learn here upon the earth what they should have learned.” Sunshine64
ParticipantThank you for posting on this topic. I am new on the forums. I was disfellowshipped in 2017 and have been struggling to find my place at church (member 50+ yrs). I am also struggling to pray, but yet I have many blessings and am thankful. Your posts have been very thoughtful and helpful. Thank you! Sunshine64
ParticipantMy boyfriend was raised Lutheran. So, we celebrated Lent this year with the candles and readings. At Christmas we have an Advent calendar. It has been very enjoyable and special for us both (drawing us closer to Christ). -
