I also believe women have the priesthood just that our church won’t admit it.

I have a question on this, especially in light of President Nelson’s talk during the women’s session of conference. It felt to me that he DID admit that women have the Priesthood, at least access to its power, but we can’t use it within the rituals and rights of the church, just to bless and nurture. So I ask, what is the point of Priesthood Ordination then? Is it only authority to administer in the church? If everyone has the power (at least endowed members), then why give it to those who are unendowed (boys), and why are we not giving it to women? My husband is of the camp that it’s all in God’s timing, but that doesn’t quite satisfy me, and he doesn’t really want to talk about it.

This is me too, thanks. With the changes this year I thought I would do better at church, but mostly church is inducing anxiety and the changes have exacerbated that. I realized I’ve only been twice since the new year, once to my own ward, and didn’t make it through both hours there. I’ve enjoyed reading and rereading this board, maybe I’ll get up the courage to post more, maybe not, but thanks for all of your thoughts you all take the time to share.

    I’ll add here.

We recently had stake conference and one of the counselors in the stake presidency called up the stake YM and YW presidents to speak. I was not following who he was having speak very well, but realized as they walked up it was because he’d addressed both as President. At the end when he took the microphone back he said, “Thank you Presidents.” I pointed it out to my husband who hadn’t noticed, but it was a big deal to me because on the letter the stake presidency sends to invite everyone to stake conference, my name has never been included. Not even in a “Mr. and Mrs. Walls” or “Walls Family”. It always has been “Mr. Walls” and bugged me. So for this counselor to address both the YM and YW presidents as “President,” I feel more comfortable with my husband’s explanation that the letters at computer generated and probably just sent to the head of household in the system and not purposefully exclusive.

During our Sabbath day lesson on Sunday, some older lady was going on and on about how we need to follow the church to keep the Sabbath day holy and how the church is the gospel we need to follow. The teacher jumped in and said something about how she was definitely right, we do need to practice living kindly and following the gospel of Christ, but the gospel is not the church. She said it matter of factly and didn’t leave room for people to fight her on it and simply moved nicely to the next comment. I guess when you watch for goodness or think of non-orthodoxy perhaps you start to see traces of it more.

    You all are great.

In an effort to make sure you know I didn’t post and disappear, I concur with everything you said. I have no idea how to quote in a post and have a hunch it’d be easier on the computer and not on a phone with one hand feeding a baby with the other.

    Thanks for the warm welcomes.
